Our role is to protect the health and safety of the public by ensuring oral health professionals meet the standards required to provide competent and ethical patient care.
We regulate dentists, dental specialists, oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental hygienists, clinical dental technicians, dental technicians and orthodontic auxiliaries.

Employers
Employers play an important role in supporting safe and competent practice. Workplace concerns should be addressed promptly and appropriately. In some circumstances, you may also need to notify the Dental Council.
Find a registered oral health practitioner
The register provides information about a practitioner's registration status, scope of practice, and any conditions or restrictions that may apply. You can search the register to check an oral health practitioner is currently registered, and any other public information.
Disciplinary decisions for oral health practitioners
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (HPDT) hears and decides disciplinary charges brought against registered health practitioners.
