Every registered oral health practitioner must work within their registered scope of practice. The Dental Council sets the competencies practitioners must demonstrate, including the skills and behaviours required to deliver safe patient care. Prescribed qualifications ensure practitioners have met the educational requirements for registration in their chosen scope of practice.
