Consultation outcome on accredited specialist qualifications and amendment to examinations
Following consultation, the Dental Council has approved the proposals to gazette as prescribed qualifications three newly accredited RACDS specialist training programmes, along with amendments to the prescribed examination qualifications for dental hygiene and dental therapy.
The three RACDS training programmes are in oral medicine, paediatric dentistry and special needs dentistry.

The consultation received 41 submissions, which were largely in favour of the proposals. The draft notices included in the consultation document remain unchanged and will be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and made available on our website, shortly.
