Professional Advisor Dexter Bambery retires

After 50 years as a dentist and 19 years working for the Council, we recently farewelled Dexter Bambery. Dexter was first appointed to the Council as a Competency Advisor in 2003, and then as the Professional Advisor in 2009. His extensive knowledge and experience, professional guidance and good humour will be greatly missed by the Council and the profession.

Dexter has seen a lot of change over the years including the introduction of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (the Act). We would like to acknowledge Dexter’s significant contribution to dentistry and dental regulation. He holds great mana amongst his colleagues and within the health regulatory environment in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We wish Dexter all the best in his retirement.
