At its September 2015 meeting the Council agreed to establish an Orthodontic working group to address concerns from patients, general dentists and orthodontic specialists concerning the quality and appropriateness of orthodontic treatment provided by general dentists offering orthodontics.
Information on the establishment of the group was provided in our December 2015 newsletter and an update, detailing some of the stakeholders who have contributed to the working group’s deliberations, was provided in our May 2016 newsletter.
The working group is expected to provide a report on its findings to Council later this year and we hope to make this available to practitioners and the public in December.
