Register in the additional scope of adult care in dental therapy practice

You must be registered in the dental therapy scope of practice to apply for registration in the scope for adult care in dental therapy practice.

To register in the adult care scope of practice you need to apply for registration of this additional scope using your practitioner portal. Select the ‘Applications’ tile and then the ‘Additional scope of practice’ application form.

Once your application has been assessed and approved, you will receive an updated practising certificate in the additional scope of adult care in dental therapy, authorising you to undertake restorative care on adults.

If you have successfully completed a Council accredited adult restorative programme, you must be registered in the scope for adult care in dental therapy practice before you can legally perform the tasks covered during your study.

As with your dental therapy scope of practice, you need to undertake professional development activities to maintain your competence to practise.
